The calling

The grove of trees surrounding me
Are whispering to my heart
As I slow my thoughts and breathe in the air
I become still and play my part
To spend this time with the sacredness
Of the earth beneath my feet
The rustle of leaves and the feel of the wind
Make me somehow feel complete
This healing grove surrounds me with love
And reminds me of who I am
A living part of divine consciousness
That came here with a plan
So I let the thoughts wash over me
As I connect with both present and past
And the recent loss of Murphy the dog
My companion and friend, we had a blast!
I feel his energy gently whooshing by
Reminding me he’s still around
Swishing his tail and staying close by
Then with a glance off he bounds
‘We’re all energy’ the trees remind me
‘And complete in our individual way
If you truly want another dog
You only need to say’
And with that I feel faint stirrings
Deep within my soul
Of the calling of an energy
And the first hint of my next goal
In the stillness I start to concentrate
On fuzzy edges that have no bounds
Pulling in ethereal information
Of our next companion Wolfhound
She’s a darling, of that there’s no question,
And very regal to be sure
An ancient name of wisdom she bears
And a heart that is very pure
She loves the sound of drums and thunder
And she's part of my shamanic path
Her energy sends out pulses of love
When she’s lying on the hearth
She follows Dave like a large sheepdog
And her  longevity defies her breed
She loves being part of any action
And our commands she always heeds
So my part in this coming plan is done
And I can do no more, except this
To continue to focus my energy and thoughts
To bring about my bliss
I thank the trees and the sacred grove
For their presence and healing balm
And as I continue along the woodland path
I feel centred, sure, and calm.
