I couldn't have imagined I would be writing this post a week ago, let alone having witnessed first hand over two days the emerging battle in Balcombe in Sussex between protestors and drilling company Cuadrilla over fracking. I'm not sure I even know where to begin as so much has already been written about it and the story is now making national headlines. For that reason I'm not going to concentrate on the fracking process itself, the lengthy legal proceedings that local resisdents have already been through (and which have been ignored), the environmental hazards, the ban on fracking in other countries or the £2m bribes that the UK government plan to hand out to communities who allow fracking to take place. I would urge anyone who is interested in knowing more to educate themselves on what's really going on. That means digging deeper than the mainstream media coverage or corporate, government and oil industry spin. For brevity's sake I've added a few links at the bottom of this post as starting points to finding out more. Ultimately it's up to each of us to decide where we stand on this issue and what we choose to do about it here in the physical plane. But this blog isn't about that.
I've had plenty of time since visiting the site to think about my own role as I've been recovering from a rather severe sickness bug for several days! Now I'm recovered, I'm finally able to gain clarity as to not only why I'm involved but more importantly what I feel that I and others can do about the fracking in Balcombe (and across the UK) from a spiritual perspective.
To be honest, it's probably not surprising to those that know me that I'm involved. Being Sussex born and bred, with a family lineage based in Sussex and with the drilling site less than two miles from where I used to ride my horse, this issue is right on my doorstep. There's something deep within my love of Sussex that has made this the last straw for me just standing by and doing nothing. Indeed, there's an old Sussex saying from way back that goes 'you can push and you can shove, but Sussex people won't be druv', hinting at our somewhat stubborn nature!!
But beyond this general geographical link however, is something far deeper. It links to the insight, knowledge and understanding gained on my shamanic path from many lifetimes. It has a direct correlation to the druidic experiences and arcane knowledge. It tells me that this ancient and intuitive lineage is just as relavent right here, right now. Why? Because we are all connected. The people, the animals, the birds, the elements, the earth. We always have been and always will be. Our consciousness, held within the Universe yet experienced as individuals, has created this amazing, beautiful planetary matrix for us to continue our co-creation journey. And because we're all connected and just like in the movie Avatar, we can link with the animals, elements and earth in times like these. Through deep meditation, focusing on the heart chakra, we can join forces with our fellow beings and elements to bring about the positive change we seek. We can call on these friends to send their energy of love and peace, to stand with us
as part of nature, show the darker forces they can no longer manipulate, destroy or rape the earth without consequences, and ultimately help in the emergence of a new way of being. If we join forces with our planetary co-inhabitants, we can demonstrate that the battle line for planet earth has now been drawn, and love will prevail.
I therefore invite anyone and everyone involved in any form of healing, meditation, animal communication or spiritual practice to join forces and stand in unison with nature. Lets seek help from our power animals, trees, plants, birds, and all the kingdoms of nature. Together, we really are one. And watch how all of earth respond.
